Our Veneering Plant went on stream in the late 1980's. The plant processes various exotic species of peelable timber imported from different parts of the world. Secondary species of softwood Veneers are chemically treated to enhance the quality and durability of such Veneers to high standards.
Our rotary peeled veneers are supplied to plywood factories all over India.
WOOD BASED PANELS
The B.A. brand of wood based panels are currently identified as among the best available, and are marketed by an extensive network of retail outlets in major cities like Delhi,Mumbai(Bombay),Bangalore,Hyderabad,Pune and Madras, as well as other urban city centers around South India. Our range of Urea and Phenol Formaldehyde bonded panels include Decorative plywood's, Commercial ply, interior grade panels, Shuttering ply,Marine ply,Blockboards and Flushdoors.
Excellent timber, scientific seasoning and chemical treatment coupled with our stringent quality control checks, both in the production process and in the finished products make them adaptable to hostile environments and variations in the atmospheric conditions.
There is little doubt that our products meet the most exacting of the professional standards.
Logging
Forestry
being a trust between man and nature,and wood being a resource that takes years to renew, we are
constantly aware of the continuing role we have to play in conserving this vital resource
for future generations. By maintaining a strict replanting ratio of 3:1 we hope to
reinvest in nature what has been used.
Most of the timber processed at our mills are acquired from
plantations that fell mature trees as part of their shade regulation requirement. The
trees are logged by teams of professional loggers using sophisticated machinery and
innovative techniques that minimize damage to surrounding vegetation.
Mohiudeen Saw Mills
Commencing operations in 1965 with a single band saw, a small timber yard and the will to survive, we have grown into one of the largest timber processing mills in South India.
Covering an area of 25 acres and with regular inputs of advanced technology, Mohiudeen Saw Mills now has the capacity to process over 2500 cubic feet of timber every day.
Sawn timber is sold all round India and is used in the Railways, Off-shore Oil Installations, Industrial and Domestic Construction and Building.
It was from ship building that we first ventured into the timber trade. Now, with the increase in demand for wooden country craft, we have modernized our building yards in Mangalore and developed the capability to construct a wide range of vessels. Our master craftsman also have the expertise to fabricate in wood, custom built pleasure cruisers and cargo craft to specific design requirements,in sizes that vary from 50 tons to 700 tons.
Our wooden sea going cargo craft are designed to cater to the Middle Eastern and South East Asian markets.
SHIPPING AND TRANSPORT
Our shipping activities extend to the chartering of ships to transport timber from overseas markets to Indian ports. We also act as Stevedores and Shipping agents to various shipping companies. Our timber yard at the new Mangalore Port is well equipped with the latest "lift and shift" machinery, necessary for the quick offloading and transportation of the imported timber.
With transport being the mainstay of an efficient distribution network, we have invested in a fleet of modern heavy duty transport vehicles that maintain the effective co-ordination between the plantations,our stockyards,processing plants and far flung markets.
IMPORTS
The relaxation of Government restrictions as regards the import of the timber prompted us to expand our activities to the international arena. This has given us the opportunity to contract for the import of a wide variety of commercial species of the timber.
At present we import plantation teak from Africa,well matured teak from Myanmar(Burma),and other primary and secondary species of timber from countries which includes the states of Sabah and Sarawak of Malaysia, the forests of Borneo in Papua New Guinea, East and West Africa,South America and Newzealand.
The imported timber has wide ranging applications from wood based panels to sawn timber that are sold to select outlets around India.
